Had a pleasant surprise when i saw 2 boxes of Lana cakes in my fridge, however when i opened to see what flavors of cakes it was, the cake was already half eaten! Must be my brother who was the first to attack it.
Arggh... My family loves the choc fudge cakes and we have been buying their cakes since i was a kid. The taste is still the same as ever.
However though the taste is same as before, the price is not the same. I understand the theory of inflation, rising costs, increment of the GST rate, but you dont have to increase the cost of the cake till so high for a weight of 500g. i remembered paying $18, ok that was like many, many years ago. Last few years, the price was $20. And now, i heard it became $27. $27 for a mere 500g cake??
I suppose business must have been really good ever since they were made known through the ST. But you dont have to increase to freaking $27!! But no matter what the price is, iam sure there will be loyal and new customers who will pay a visit to the family-owned shop, no matter if the price becomes $30.
So if you happen to be at Bukit Timah area, be sure to pop by and buy a box to try out.
