So excited as the new Ikea store will be opening on 30 November 06! Another 2 more days!! www.ikea.com.sg
Cant wait to visit the store as it's only 2 bus stop away from my house, seldom go to the Alexandra Road outlet as it's quite a distance away from my home. Iam sure there will be alot of people visiting this store. Iam already on leave, so will definitely head down to check out the sales and the new designs if any that the store is providing. Looking to get some curtains for the new house.
Saw a nice design, Roman Blinds(Iris) tagged at $9.00. Not bad, iam sure will look nice with the matching white coloured paint on the walls.

Had to run about the central part of Singapore today for collection of items that we had ordered. Firstly, went to Ann Siang Road to collect the ring pillow that was made by Carol. Found her contacts in the forums, and her speciality is to make ring pillows and corsages. Thus decided to ask her to make since she has good remarks from other customers on her product: Quality. I showed her the designs I wanted, a bit of here and a bit of there from different ring pillows designs I found online. When I collected it, it was what I expected and I was glad I asked her to do it. Charges are at a reasonable price. Thus if anyone is interested to get ring pillows or corsages, I can give you her contacts. Hehe.
Next went to collect our wedding bands, was looking forward to it as I envisioned it to be exactly the same as the design I saw online. It’s really nice... Perfect and impeccable. It was even nicer as what I expected. The cost was also halved as what the jewellery shop would have quoted us. Was so excited about it that I wanted to wear it immediately, but Dar said don’t be crazy, thus got to wait till the 1st December 2006. *grins*
We also searched the Straits Times for a Garage Sale at any of those furniture warehouse and decided to go to 15 PlayFair Road where they were selling 2nd hand furniture. Walking around and finding the price reasonable and justified, we bought a 3 seater sofa set, a dinning table, and a fridge; all 2nd hand which are in good shape and quality. Paid a total of $530, not sure if it’s a good deal, but at least we settled the furniture issue so that we can quickly rent out our place. Dar’s relative brought some friends over to view the house and they said that there were interested in it, thus we got to quicken our process of tidying and cleaning and painting of the house so that the people can rent them. (painting is really a slow process)
Went back home to sleep for a while as we had a tiring day running about getting our stuffs, next was to get his clothes for the solemnization. Went to G2000 at Compasspoint to get shirts and pants, bought 2 sets, which he is able to use them as his working clothes since there are having a sale.
Spent quite a lot today, both our pockets are having holes at the mean time. But it was money well spent and money that was spent on the necessary items.

It started out with a bad sore throat on saturday and i thought just by eating my lozenges, Difflam, the soreness will be gone and healed. Lest that i know, it got worst. I got the flu bug and fever was on and off. Coughing persisted and my nose became more runny.
Decided to take MC today and visited the doc for medication that would heal my cough and throat. Rested well and ready to work again tommorrow.

Got a nice flower bouquet after I went for a focus group, it's more like a survey where they pay you after the whole session. I've already received my token of appreciation from Mediacorp, but Rustic Nirvana Management gave each of us a flower bouquet which was sent personally to the house. Was impressed with them for rewarding the 10 of us after as we gave them our comments to how they can improve their services and program.
Really enjoyed myself on Friday, met up with like-minded people who were able to talk,chit chat and also to complain about anything.

11 Nov 2006 - Saurday :: Painting is really tiring

Started the weekend with painting my house. Had to lay the floor with canvas, mask off some of areas so that the paint will not fall on it and then i have to do more cleaning work.
Now then realise that it's super tiring to do painting, even it's only for a room!! It's not the muscle ache that you will get at the arms, but it's the fact that you need to climb up and down the ladder, to paint the higher part of the wall to the bottom of the wall. But we just painted only 3/4 of the room and gave up, guess it was also due to the weather: Rainy and so cosy to sleep in. In the end, we closed shop and went back to sleep, to regenerate our energy for the night as there was a dinner meeting with his friends.
Guess the rest of the Saturdays is used for house cleaning or painting.

Had a very tiring and exaggerating afternoon by doing major cleaning in our new house. Basically, it was more like spring cleaning for the Chinese New Year, it was really dirty and dusty as the house was left vacant for 2 years. The water had a strong smell of chorine, most probably was due to the fact that pipes was left unused for quite some time. Me and Dar spent most of the afternoon cleaning and scrubbing of the floors in the hall, toilets and kitchen. Now remains the bedrooms, only mopping can be done as the flooring was paque. The cupboards needs to be wiped once as dust can be seen accumulating.
The granite floor feels so comfortable to walk on, squeaky sound can be heared when you walk, and it feels good and satisfying to have done the work together.
Muscles ached at shoulders and the back. It was really hard work for the afternoon, and now wished that someone could give me a good massage at the back. But at the meantime, muscle cream is the best remedy as the heat helps to alleviate some of the pain off my back. I feel as if my back is going to give way!!
Next is to have the bed rooms cleaned and painting done, that would be left for next weekends to come.
Preparations are still in process, basically all the necessary things that need to be settled have already been done. Just that the items are in the process of production and making. Ring pillow is still in the making, and the end product shld be nice!!

At the sametime looking forward to my hair cut & highlighting session on Monday, and at the same time will be popping by to diGio to choose my flower bouquet . Took half day as i wanted to spend half of the day doing girl stuff, and also settling some important issues with the bridal studio. Have thought of certain flower arrangements, plain and simple would kind that iam looking for.
