For a movie buff like me, realised that there are a few nice and must-watch movies coming in the theaters within these next few months. And i thought why not make a list of such movies which iam sure most will be sure to catch it without a doubt.
Lots of effort has been made to advertise movies make people snap up the tickets weeks before the movie comes to town, an eg,
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. Sad to say, Iam one of the few who got my tickets and cant wait to watch it when it hits the cinemas next week. Have you booked your tickets yet???

13 May 2007 - Sunday :: Mango cake on Mummy Day
Sunday, May 13, 2007

Bought a simple mango cake for mummy to enjoy since she quite likes to eat cakes. This cake was really heavy, not sure what the weight was as i bought it from a colleague. But while carrying it home, i felt the plastic bag that i was carrying getting heavier and kept wondering, what kinda of mango cake is in the box. (I didnt have the chance to peek at the cake when i received it at office)
When i opened the box to reveal the mysterious heavy cake, i got a shock! So big leh! I was surprised to see a relatively huge cake for such a good price. The Mango slices were more than enough to eat and it was sweet and juicy too!! It was a nice cake, mummy commented that it was nice..
Okies, next on the menu of cakes, Strawberry cake!! YumYum, wonder if there will be fresh strawberries on the cake..
....... Definitely need to watch out for extra weight put on though. Hehe...

5 May 2007 - Saturday :: Sweet and Salty Tau Sar Piah
Saturday, May 05, 2007
"The Original, The Only Outlet" Tau Sar Piah is located at Balestier Road. Not sure if anyone has tried this yet, but whenever iam there, there always be a queue. No doubt can you find no queue or no one buying. I wonder how many do they have to make? Or what is their daily sales? They open till about late afternoon, wonder how many hours they have to make and yet able to earn from just making piahs???
Iam not a fan of tau sar piah actually but a lot of people has said that this place has the nicest tau sar piah. Is it the crispiness, the sweetness or saltiness of the piahs? You can find the old, young and the middle aged Sporean queuing, buying for families, friends etc.
I find the sweet has tasted salty and the salty, more salty. I was able to tell the difference between the 2 before , but now, the taste seems to be fused together. Each cost $0.50, not sure if it's the usual rate of piahs, i find it reasonable enough.
If you are in for some sweet or salty tau sar piah, head down to this old shop, tucked at the corner of the street of shops. You can find workers hand-making each of this tau sar piah non-stop at the back of the shop, where the oven will churn out trays of hot piping piahs.
** Best to eat it while it's hot!!
