26 October 2007 - Friday :: Happy Hours after Work
Chilling with my best friend with pizza, fried hot chicken and glass of Hoegaarden was like the perfect Friday that I have been looking for. She brought me to Ice Cold Beer which sits nicely at the farthest end of Emerald Hill. A spot where you can see quite a few foreigners would hang out for a nice cold beer or catching up with friends and sometimes with a pinch of work talk.
One bad thing about it was that the music level was kinda loud, and we had to literally shout at each other to really hear what we were talking, and to add it on, as the night progresses more people were arriving, the noise level was definitely getting higher with the music.
It has been sometime since we last met up, she's busy with work and school assignments and me, just work. I guess i should start something about my studying plan; am thinking of doing MBA or maybe CFA. Since most of us at work are also considering taking up either one, its always good to have a study partner.
I guess first thing first, get the GMAT book and start practicing or register for the CFA course to get the book and start reading.
Laptop is now up and running, had problem with the fan so I cant even on my laptop for the last few weeks. So let me update on what has been happening since the last time i wrote something.
27 September 2007 The 'nasty' group of us decided to play a prank on the bdae boy. First it was just a small present : a used tissue box with a bottle of essence of chicken with ginseng with a nice big bdae card. But after all, we arent that nasty and bad people, it was the cutie (commented by the ladies during a lesson) boy's bdae. Friday's lunch was order in, with a feast of KFC and PizzaHut and not forgetting a choclaty fudge cake, all of these nicely planned. But we did had a hard time trying to get him into the room, where most of us were hiding so that we could do a SURPRISE shoutout.
6-7 October 2007 Went for a short trip to Batam, Indonesia with the peeps from office. Total of 10 pax, stayed at the Turi Beach Resort. Rather old, some of the doors in the room had those creepy sounds, and felt like i was staying in a kampong. But the surrounding didnt bother me at all as we were so busy shopping and massaging in the day, and busy playing card games at night. It was really enjoyable trip in which i got to know more about my crazy colleagues: each of us have some sort of a disorder...

12 October 2007 Mr Sew birthday: as usual we have planned something for the bdae boy. Once again, we decided to give a surprise . For the month of Oct, we had to celebrate one of my colleagues bdae and this time, we planned a nice dinner at Oosh @ Dempsy Hill. First we went to BK, to have a small celebration, leaving the poor guy the impression that this was it and dinner at Oosh was something else. This poor guy was so lost and the look on his face, Priceless.......
5 October 2007 - Friday :: Waiting for the Friday hour to end
Cant wait for my Batam trip tomorrow with my colleagues!! We have been planning this since 2 weeks again, we had initially wanted to go for a cruise, but seems like there is nothing much to do on a ship except gambling, thus we decided to go batam since most have not been there before.
Though it's a 2D1N event, first time going on a mini trip with the peeps; cant wait for the tanning , snorkeling, paint balls etc.... Sat pls come fast.....
